PipeLay
PipeLay has been developed by Wood Group Kenny in collaboration with key industry partners to provide a modern, easy to use, state-of-the-art solution to the problems associated with deep and shallow water pipeline installation analysis.
PipeLay has been designed from the ground up as a specialised engineering tool allowing data to be input in language familiar to the pipeline installation engineer, rather than in more complex finite element terms. The software automates many of the tasks associated with building finite element models, optimising designs, running analyses and presenting results in a report-ready format.
PipeLay has been widely validated against third party software and it is now generally regarded as the superior tool of choice for offshore pipeline installation analysis within the industry today.

PipeLay Migration Services
As both developers and users of engineering software Wood Group Kenny recognizes that it can be difficult to migrate from using one particular analysis package to another.Such difficulty typically arises from the fact that work practices over time are adapted to the tools being used and so changing the tools in question can cause hassle over the short term. Nonetheless, where new tools bring significant benefits such hassle is worth it, provided of course the migration process is managed effectively.
In recognition of the above, Wood Group Kenny is proud to offer a dedicated migration service as part of new PipeLay software sales. This service has a number of key elements that facilitate the ease at which our customers can move away from their legacy installation analysis packages to adopting PipeLay. PipeLay Starter Edition
PipeLay SE (Starter Edition) provides a cost effective solution to users who are presently interested in relatively high level installation analysis and so do not require the full expanse of capabilities that the full edition of PipeLay offers. This cost effectiveness is achieved by removing some of the more complex features from the product leading to a considerable discount of up to 50% on the software license fee.
While some capabilities have been removed, PipeLay SE still offers a lot of the core features and benefits of the full edition, such as static and dynamic analyses in a productive Windows™ environment. This offering is a level above that provided by other dedicated installation analysis tools on the market and this fact coupled with the reduced license cost makes PipeLay SE a valuable option.
